Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (YMC), announced that Craig Hewitt, Chief Operating Officer of YMFUS, was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer effective February 1, 2022.

Hewitt joined Yamaha in 2020 to support the company’s growth in the Powersports and Marine segments. Prior to joining Yamaha, he was CEO of Carfinance.com, a direct-to-consumer automotive finance platform. While his predecessor Jeff Young’s role was to create YMFUS, Hewitt’s vision is to strengthen the business with technology, expand opportunities for new customers and invest in its core competencies: granting loans, loan servicing and risk management.

“I am truly honored to be named President and CEO of Yamaha Financial Services,” said Hewitt. “Our business has changed and evolved dramatically over the past two years, and I couldn’t be more excited to lead our team at YMFUS during this time of real opportunity and growing engagement with our customers. “

YMC also announced that the former President and CEO of YMFUS Jeff Young, will become president of YMFUS and, at the same time, was named general manager of YMC. In his new role, Young is responsible for all YMC Group financial companies in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Young joined YMFUS in 2014 as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and helped start the company which launched five businesses in its first five years. Promoted to president in 2018, the company now has nearly 200 employees. In 2020, Young was named Deputy Managing Director of YMC and Vice President, Global Financial Services Execution Transformation.
