WTW Appoints Joseph Noss as Senior Director, Finance Sector
WTW, a global advisory, brokerage and solutions company, has appointed Joseph Noss as Senior Director, Financial Sector, within the firm’s Climate and Resilience Hub (CRH), where he will be based in London.
In his new role, Noss will lead engagement with financial institutions, markets and regulators around the world to support the transition to a resilient, net-zero financial system.
Noss has more than 15 years of experience in the financial sector, coming from his previous role at the G20 Financial Stability Board (FSB) in Basel, where he led climate finance regulation for the banking, investment and insurance.
He played a key role in coordinating the FSB’s Climate Roadmap, which was released in July 2021 and will shape global climate policy and its implementation over the next five years. He has also led work to assess climate-related risks to the financial system and to improve the quality and consistency of data and disclosures.
Prior to joining the FSB, Noss spent over ten years at the Bank of England where he led analytical and policy work on a variety of financial markets and institutions, including capital markets, asset management assets and insurance.
He has also participated in various international policy work, including that of the Committee on the Global Financial System and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.
Leading CRH’s financial sector team, Noss will combine people from WTW, capital and risk business lines to help financial institutions develop and implement strategies and reforms related to climate in response to developments regarding the TCFD, financial regulation and broader market demands.
