Group Finance Manager Job at Wigan Council
The role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of Wigan Council’s finance team. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance, you will be responsible for providing high quality financial advice to the Children’s Services Branch, the Schools Forum and the schools in the district.
As Group Finance Manager, you will manage and lead our Schools Finance team. The department provides a full range of financial services to our schools as well as operating a traveling stewardship service. You will also lead the financial management arrangements for funding the Council’s high needs.
As the ideal candidate for this position, you will have significant experience and knowledge of school and education finance.
You will have proven yourself in an environment under pressure and deadlines and will be able to represent service and advice at local and regional level if necessary.
You have excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
You will also have the skills to effectively manage the school finance team with a passion for helping individuals develop and grow.
